Built with a heavy-duty NEMA Type 4X/IP66 stainless-steel enclosure, the 480/482 Legend Series is specifically designed to withstand harsh industrial conditions, including moisture, dust, washdown procedures, and electrical noise commonly found in production environments. The advanced gasket system provides superior protection for internal electronics, ensuring dependable operation indoors or outdoors.

The Legend Series is available in two display configurations. The Model 480 features a bright six-digit LED display for excellent visibility in industrial settings, while the Model 482 utilizes a backlit LCD display with sharp contrast for enhanced readability in varying lighting conditions. Both displays feature large 0.8-inch (20 mm) characters and clearly visible status annunciators for gross, net, tare, center-of-zero, standstill, pounds, and kilograms.

Designed for straightforward operation, the indicator features a tactile membrane keypad for easy navigation and programming. Plus models (480 Plus and 482 Plus) include a full numeric keypad, allowing operators to quickly enter tare values, setpoints, and other operational parameters. Battery-backed time and date functions ensure accurate record keeping and transaction tracking even during power interruptions.

The 480/482 Legend Series supports a wide range of weighing applications, from simple gross/net weighing to batching and process control. Eight configurable setpoints and a built-in sequenced batch engine enable automated filling, dispensing, and material handling operations. Programmable ticket formats allow users to customize gross, net, accumulator, and setpoint printouts to meet operational and reporting requirements.

For system integration, the Legend Series includes two independent serial communication ports supporting RS-232 and optional 20 mA current loop communications. Optional Ethernet TCP/IP, USB, analog output, and relay boards provide additional connectivity for printers, computers, PLCs, remote displays, and industrial automation systems. The indicator is fully configurable using Rice Lake Revolution® software, simplifying setup and customization.

Advanced circuitry protects the system from electrical disturbances, transient spikes, and industrial noise, helping maintain weighing accuracy and reliability. With internal resolution up to 523,000 counts and system linearity within 0.01% of full scale, the Legend Series delivers dependable performance across a wide range of weighing applications.
