Designed with intrinsic safety at its core, the 882IS Series eliminates the need for explosion-proof enclosures while maintaining full operational capability in classified environments. The indicators are Factory Mutual (FM/cFMus), ATEX, IECEx, NTEP, Measurement Canada, and OIML approved, making them suitable for legal-for-trade and industrial weighing applications worldwide. The 882IS utilizes a bright seven-digit LCD display with a white LED backlight that provides excellent visibility in low-light industrial environments. The standard 882IS model features dedicated weighing function keys, while the 882IS Plus adds a full numeric keypad for enhanced data entry, transaction processing, and operational flexibility. A battery life indicator and power-saving mode help maximize runtime in portable applications.
Constructed with a rugged stainless-steel IP66 enclosure, the indicator is designed to withstand harsh industrial environments while protecting internal electronics from dust, moisture, and contamination. The durable enclosure and integrated tilt stand provide reliable performance in demanding production areas and hazardous locations where equipment durability is essential.
For enhanced connectivity, the 882IS Series features dual fiber-optic communication ports capable of transmitting data up to 500 feet (152 meters). These electrically isolated communications provide safe data transfer between hazardous and safe areas without compromising intrinsic safety requirements. Optional I/O modules further expand functionality with Ethernet TCP/IP, serial communications, analog outputs, industrial fieldbus protocols, and additional control capabilities.
The indicator supports up to four 350-ohm or eight 700-ohm load cells and provides accurate weighing performance with an internal resolution of 1,000,000 counts and update rates up to 60 updates per second. Advanced weighing functions include gross, net, tare, accumulation, configurable local/remote operation, automatic zero tracking, and temperature compensation for consistent accuracy.
An optional FM-approved rechargeable battery pack provides portable operation for remote or movable weighing applications. Depending on load cell configuration, the battery can provide up to 100 hours of operation on a single charge, making it ideal for field installations and mobile weighing systems.
